Job summary

Software Resources, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Data Engineer (LFI, Data Governance) for a hybrid role to build reporting solutions and support regulatory data needs while aligning work with data governance and compliance requirements.

You will use SQL to query data, design dashboards and reports with Power BI and Tableau, automate processes, analyze large datasets, and ensure data accuracy for LFI regulatory reporting and FRB compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics & Data Management or a similar field.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• Intermediate to Advanced experience with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel) and data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience with project management and managing multiple priorities and deliverables.
• Intermediate knowledge of banking operations (deposits, loans, treasury) and regulatory obligations.
• Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

Data Engineer (LFI, Data Governance) (Phoenix, AZ, hybrid) will build reporting solutions and support regulatory data needs while aligning work with data governance and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Use SQL to query and analyze data; lead design, build, and maintenance of advanced dashboards and reporting tools for key business performance metrics while maintaining data and reporting standards
• Identify and develop automation techniques using available technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Conduct deep-dive analysis on large, complex datasets to surface trends, patterns, and anomalies; provide data-based recommendations for operational improvements and strategy
• Translate business unit reporting and analytics needs into analytical tasks; present findings and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders
• Design and implement processes that support data accuracy and reliability through validation and quality checks
• Collaborate with IT teams to enhance data infrastructure and improve data accessibility
• Develop business requirements as needed for LFI Regulatory Reporting, incorporating changes required by FRB regulations for a Category III institution
• Problem solve related to requirements, defects, and data validation
• Perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure accuracy and integrity of data
• Lead and support junior staff and the broader team

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics & Data Management or a similar field
• Bachelor's degree in a related field required
• Intermediate to Advanced experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) with the ability to communicate insights clearly and actionably
• Experience with project management and managing multiple priorities and deliverables
• Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services
• Intermediate knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards, and practices
• Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills

Regulatory Reporting Context

• Work with teams focused on developing, testing, and executing regulatory reporting data for LFI status
• Be familiar with Reg YY and related reporting regulations, including FR 2052a, FR Y-14, and FR Y-15
• Experience with increasing responsibility in regulatory reporting or other areas at a bank is preferred
• Working knowledge of Reg YY and other related regulatory reporting is preferred
