Job summary

Apple Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Data Engineer to design data pipelines and build iOS/macOS apps for data collection and health feature prototyping. You’ll join a cross-functional team of researchers, data scientists, and engineers to ensure scalable, privacy-aware data systems.

The role blends data engineering rigor with Apple-platform app development, working years ahead of product launch cycles. Strong Swift and Python/Scala expertise required, with familiarity in AWS or similar cloud

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in Software Development.
• Expert in Python or Scala with large-scale data processing experience (Spark/Hadoop/Dask) and orchestration/containerization (Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience designing ETL workflows and data models across relational and file-system databases (Postgres, SQL, Parquet, S3, Data Lake).
• Experience in Swift and Xcode-based development for iOS/macOS apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and analysis workflows for large datasets.
• Develop and maintain iOS/macOS apps to support data collection and health feature prototyping.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with researchers, data scientists and engineers to support prototyping and research activities.
