Job summary

FlightSafety International is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to design, build, and optimize data pipelines in Databricks. You will work with PySpark, SQL, and notebook workflows to support analytics and data-driven applications.

This paid 10-week internship runs June 1st to August 4th, 2027, with a 40-hour work week. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergrad or grad program, preferably in Data Engineering, CS, or AI, and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Qualifications

• Must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of application.
• Major in Data Engineering, Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence is preferred.

Responsibilities

TheData Engineer Intern will perform meaningful work alongside other talented professionals gaining insight to FlightSafety International’s culture and business philosophy. This internship involves designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines in Databricks to support analytics and data‑driven applications. The intern will develop and maintain PySpark, SQL, and notebook workflows, troubleshoot data issues, and help improve data quality and reliability across the platform. This paid internship is a 10‑week program that will begin June 1st, and will conclude August 4th, 2027. 40 hours per week will be expected of each intern.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
• Rotates through our divisions of responsibility and provides ideas to grow and improve the business.
• Accepts designated, business‑focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship.
• Engages with customers or clients and provides service and/or sales.
• Provide suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes.
• Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.
• Must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, working towards a Bachelor's or Master'sdegree. A major in Data Engineering, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence is preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of application. Must be submitted on resume.
• Fundamental knowledge of computer programs, techniques, and concepts for the area of application.
