Job summary

Berkley Technology Services in Urbandale, IA seeks a Data Engineer Intern to support the Berkley Data Warehouse team with hands-on ETL and data integration work. You will learn from experienced engineers, contribute to DataStage/SSIS pipelines, and gain exposure to insurance data, Azure SQL, and automation tools in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of college coursework completed; CS-related preferred.
• Prior co-op or internship or related technical experience preferred but not required
• Exposure to RDBMS solutions (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) is a plus
• Experience leading group projects in academic, internship/co-op, or professional settings is a plus
• Understanding of RESTful API

Responsibilities

• Develop and utilize Tidal Enterprise Scheduler workflows
• Develop MSSQL/Azure SQL statements and stored procedures

Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer Intern on the Berkley Technology Services (BTS) Berkley Data Warehouse Team, you’ll partner directly with a team of highly experienced data warehouse engineers and architects. You’ll gain hands‑on experience related to the Berkley data warehouse. Key functions will include but are not limited to:

• Develop ETL processes using DataStage or SSIS


• Develop and utilize Tidal Enterprise Scheduler workflows

• Prior related co‑op, internship, and/or on or off‑campus technical experience preferred but not required


• Previous exposure to RDBMS solutions (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.) is a plus


• Experience leading group projects in a classroom, internship/co‑op, and/or professional setting is a plus


• Understanding of RESTful API
