Job summary

Amazon Advertising’s Sales Data Services (SDS) team is hiring a Data Engineer II to build and support data warehouse and data lake infrastructure for pan-Amazon sales intelligence. You will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using AWS tools and Python to enable robust analytics and reporting.

You will mentor teammates, handle multiple ETL/ELT tasks, and partner with stakeholders across teams to prioritize needs and deliver scalable data solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
• 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using OLAP technologies.
• 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using data modeling.
• 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using SQL.
• 1+ years developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using Oracle.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support data warehouse and data lake infrastructure using AWS big data stack, Python, and Redshift.
• Develop and manage ETLs to pull data from multiple data lakes and create a unified data model for analytics and reporting.
• Enable self-serve analytics by supporting both technical and non-technical internal customers.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting support as needed for internal stakeholders.
• Build deep understanding of large data sources to determine which data to use, and when, to solve business problems.
• Manage numerous concurrent requests, prioritizing strategically and collaborating across teams to deliver results.
• Mentor other engineers, contribute to positive team culture, and help grow the team.
