Job summary

Amazon's Global Logistics (GL) Exports team is seeking a Data Engineer II to design and implement scalable ETL pipelines using Python, Spark, SQL and AWS services. You will build data architectures, APIs, and tools to empower analytics for customers, sellers, and vendors navigating cross-border trade.

You will collaborate with software developers and data scientists to deliver data solutions, ensure data governance, and drive data-driven decisions across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• 2+ years of analyzing data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Scala, NodeJS)
• Experience building/operating highly available distributed data processing systems
• Proactive, independent and able to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable ETL pipelines using Python, Spark, SQL and AWS services
• Develop data architecture, schemas, and internal tools/APIs for analytics and reporting
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases ensuring data quality and scalability
• Manage AWS resources and implement security controls, data governance, and compliance standards
• Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Automate processes to increase efficiency and enable self-service capabilities
• Partner with Software Developers, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions, providing technical leadership
• Apply AI/ML technologies to data engineering use cases
• Design and build internal tools, APIs, or software that serve data products or automate business processes
