Job summary

Travelers Data Engineering team builds data pipelines and analytics tools used across the enterprise. As a Data Engineer, you will contribute to growing and transforming our analytics landscape, translating data findings into actionable insights using a range of data programming techniques.

You will design, build and deploy data solutions that support AI, ML and BI initiatives, working with cross-functional teams. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field or equivalent.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Strong understanding of Gen AI concepts (Agentic Frameworks, RAG, LLM, chunking, hyper-parameters).
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Designer/Architect with data engineering focus.
• Proficiency in Python.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate complex data solutions; perform data transformations and quality improvements.
• Analyze complex data sources to determine value and use; design data inclusion for analytics.
• Incorporate data governance, security and quality; collaborate across teams to educate end users.
• Perform data and system analysis, diagnose defects, and resolve incidents.
• Test data movement, transformations and data components.
