Job summary

Travelers Data Engineering is seeking a senior data engineer to design and operationalize scalable, cloud-native data pipelines supporting AI, ML, and BI initiatives. You will work with AWS native services and Databricks, loading data into Snowflake, and apply dbt in modern pipeline architectures.

The role requires a Bachelor's in STEM and about eight years of related experience, with strong governance, security, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent.
• 8+ years of related data engineering experience.
• Design and build scalable, cloud-native data pipelines (AWS/Databricks) for AI/BI workloads.
• Experience with dbt, Snowflake, and modern data tooling.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, security and quality practices.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and educate end users on data products.

Responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions and perform data transformations.
• Design complex data solutions and assess data value for analytics.
• Incorporate data governance, security and quality into data products.
• Collaborate with teams to enable delivery and educate end users.
• Analyze data and system defects, identify resolutions, and test data movements.
• Test data movement, transformation code and components.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
