Job summary

US Cold Storage is hiring an entry-level Data Engineer I to design, build, and support data platforms and pipelines powering analytics and AI-driven solutions. You will collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality data for decision-making.

Ideal candidates have strong SQL and Python fundamentals and are eager to learn modern cloud data technologies and production-scale operations in a hybrid Camden, NJ environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
• Strong SQL skills with joins, aggregations, window functions, and optimization.
• Experience with Python or similar languages.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and modern data architectures.
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn emerging technologies.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Develop ingestion from databases, APIs, files, logs, and other enterprise systems.
• Write clean SQL and Python for data transformation and orchestration.
• Monitor data quality, reliability, freshness, and observability.
• Support analytics, reporting, and data science with trusted data assets.
• Apply data modeling, source control, documentation, and deployment best practices.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and perform root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement of the data platform.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams on data requirements.
• Support production data environments and operational activities.
• Stay current on cloud data technologies and AI-enabled data workflows.
