Job summary

Schwab Advisor Services, a division of The Charles Schwab Corporation, is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to build scalable data pipelines and data marts that power reporting and analytics for RIAs. You will collaborate with business and tech teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions and help shape a future-state data platform.

Qualifications

• Expertise in ETL/ELT development and data engineering best practices.
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, data mart design, and warehousing concepts.
• Experience with Google Cloud technologies, BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
• Business analysis to translate requirements into data mappings and metrics.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on data engineering experience.
• Knowledge of metadata management, governance, and data retention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data mart solutions for reporting and analytics use cases.
• Design end-to-end data pipelines for ingesting and transforming large data volumes.
• Develop dimensional data models and manage slowly changing dimensions.
• Define data retention/history strategies balancing analytical value and performance.
• Implement data quality controls, testing, and monitoring.
• Provide production support and deployment artifacts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead data pipeline development and promote engineering best practices.
• Navigate cross-functional communication to maintain alignment.
• Identify risks and enforce data governance and metadata management.
