Tennr is building data pipelines and a strategic data platform to support healthcare integrations and analytics at production scale. In this role, you will own end-to-end data engineering work, from ingesting data from EHR systems into Snowflake to designing governed data models and monitoring pipeline health. You will also explore AI-enabled approaches to unlock value from unstructured clinical referral documentation.
What you’ll do
- Own the data engineering function end-to-end, building and maintaining production pipelines from Tennr’s application into Snowflake while ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
- Lead EHR discovery and integration efforts across approximately 5–10 healthcare systems. Evaluate available data, existing integrations, and technical tradeoffs, then design creative extraction and ingestion solutions into Snowflake.
- Own Snowflake as the strategic data platform by architecting instance setup, implementing security best practices and governance, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring zero data exposure.
- Design and implement data models that transform raw data into usable assets. Enable internal teams to safely access and build analytics and tooling on top of shared data.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting to detect pipeline issues early and resolve them with minimal business impact.
- Explore AI-enabled approaches to structure and extract insights from unstructured referral documentation, unlocking value from clinical text data.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of data engineering experience, with a strong record of building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Proven expertise with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms such as AWS or GCP, plus hands-on experience with data pipeline tools and orchestration frameworks.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data including claims and EHR systems, and data integration patterns, or the ability to quickly learn complex domain-specific systems.
- Healthcare-data security awareness, including familiarity with HIPAA considerations, data governance, and compliance (a plus).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort handling complex, ambiguous integration challenges beyond standard connector setup.
- Outstanding communication skills to explain complex technical and healthcare concepts to a diverse audience.
- A collaborative team mindset that values diverse perspectives.
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced tech environment (a plus).
