Job summary

Superhuman is hiring a Data Engineer to join the Data Foundations team and help build a world-class data platform handling billions of daily events.

You will design robust data pipelines, data lakes, and ETL frameworks, enabling real-time and batch processing across product features and experimentation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and a strong ownership mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in live production environments with high-load or data-intensive workflows.
• Proficient in SQL and Python, with Spark and lakehouse/cloud data warehouse experience.
• Solid knowledge of ETL/ELT design, orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, Dagster), and CI/CD for data.
• Data modeling and data warehouse design with emphasis on data quality and observability.
• Hands-on with modern storage tech (Delta Lake, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Clear communicator and collaborative across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and data lakes that ingest billions of events.
• Ensure data availability, security, and scalability for real-time and batch processing.
• Own data quality, freshness, and reliability with automated checks and monitoring.
• Build ETL frameworks and tooling for self-serve data products.
• Partner with product, backend, ML, and data science to deliver data-driven features.
• Shape the team's charter and technical roadmap with leadership.
