Job summary

Superhuman is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Foundations team, building scalable data pipelines and data lakes to ingest billions of events daily. You will impact product features and decision-making across the company, contributing to ETL framework development and data models.

You will collaborate with product, back-end, ML, and data science teams, shaping the roadmap and owning end-to-end data systems from strategy to production reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience running live production environments, including high-load or data-intensive workflows.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python with hands-on Spark experience and lakehouse/cloud data warehouse knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns, orchestration tools, and data quality and CI/CD for data.
• Data modeling, data warehouse design, and a focus on data quality and observability.
• Experience with modern storage technologies (Delta Lake, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Clear communication and ownership mindset across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and own large-scale data pipelines and data lakes (Spark/Databricks).
• Design solutions to keep data available, secure, and scalable for real-time and batch processing.
• Own data quality, freshness, and reliability with automated checks and monitoring.
• Build ETL frameworks and tooling for self-serve data products for other teams.
• Partner with product, back-end, ML, and Data Science to translate business questions into data products.
• Collaborate with leadership to shape the team’s charter and technical roadmap.
