Kimley-Horn is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team in Phoenix. This role designs, develops, and maintains data pipelines and enterprise data solutions while evolving our data architecture and analytics platform.

The ideal candidate has a solid data engineering foundation, collaborates with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, and works with Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 3+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL, MS SQL Server, and T-SQL development skills.
• Experience ETL/ELT with Azure Data Factory or similar tools.
• Python programming experience.
• Azure cloud experience and Git/Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
• Power BI data modeling knowledge and stakeholder collaboration.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop SQL queries, procedures, views, and data objects for analytics.
• Build reliable data integrations from multiple sources.
• Partner with business users to gather requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Support enterprise data models and architecture.
• Collaborate with BI to provide optimized datasets for Power BI.
• Use Azure DevOps and Git for deployments and source control.
• Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance.
• Contribute to data quality, governance, and engineering standards.
• Explore AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and quality.
