Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team in a full-time, in-office role in Dallas. You will design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and support enterprise reporting and analytics across Azure, SQL Server, and Python.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions and contribute to data models and architecture. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in data engineering, strong SQL expertise, Azure cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field required.
• Minimum 3+ years of data engineering experience with a strong foundation in SQL and data pipelines.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, SSIS, and Python.
• Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Build and maintain reliable data integrations from internal and external data sources.
• Partner with business users to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Support the design and enhancement of enterprise data models and data architecture.
• Collaborate with BI developers to provide optimized datasets for Power BI reporting and semantic models.
• Utilize Azure DevOps and Git for source control, deployments, and CI/CD processes.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability.
• Contribute to data quality, governance, documentation, and engineering standards.
• Explore and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and solution quality.
• Continuously learn and evaluate emerging data platform technologies.
