Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing and optimizing data pipelines, implementing big data solutions, and contributing to our advanced cloud-based projects. The candidate should be versatile in various data engineering technologies and methodologies, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a remote team environment. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with clients. Availability for scheduled client meetings and responsiveness on Slack during EST business hours is required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, build, and optimize data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
2. Work with big data technologies to solve complex data processing challenges.
3. Implement ETL processes and data warehousing solutions.
4. Attend meetings, providing pre-sales support and technical insights.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into broader projects.
6. Engage in cloud-based data solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
7. Ensure data integrity, efficiency, and scalability in all solutions.

Core Skills:

1. Strong proficiency in Python.
2. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
3. Expertise in ETL processes and tools.
4. Proficiency in one or more cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP, with specific technologies including:
5. AWS: Glue, Redshift, EMR, Lambda, S3, Kinesis, Athena.
6. Azure: Databricks, Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Event Hubs.
7. GCP: BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage.
8. Familiarity with big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, or Airflow.
9. Experience with Snowflake for cloud data warehousing.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
11. Excellent English communication skills for client-facing roles and technical discussions.
12. Previous consulting or startup environment experience.
13. Ability to independently handle customer interactions and lead projects.

Desired Skills:

1. Experience with Looker, PowerBI, Tableau, or Grafana for data visualization.
2. Experience with machine learning and analytics.
3. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
4. Knowledge of API development and integration.
5. Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Flink.
6. Understanding of data privacy and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
