Job summary

Slalom is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization initiative, migrating enterprise data assets from Cloudera to Amazon Redshift. This role will focus on data migration, pipeline development, cloud transformation, and BI enablement.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cloudera/Hadoop, cloud data platforms, and BI solutions. This position follows Eastern Time business hours and requires U.S. Citizenship.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related data platform roles.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudera, Hadoop ecosystem technologies, or similar big data platforms.
• Experience migrating data from on-premises to cloud data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong SQL development and data modeling skills.
• Experience in cloud environments such as AWS.
• Experience supporting business intelligence and reporting solutions.
• Ability to work EST business hours.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for analytics.
• Lead migration activities from Cloudera/Hadoop to Amazon Redshift.
• Configure, optimize, and monitor ETL/ELT data workflows.
• Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data availability and quality.
• Support reporting and visualization using MicroStrategy and other BI tools.
• Create, enhance, and modify dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Implement data integration across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Troubleshoot data pipelines and integration issues.
• Participate in architecture discussions and cloud modernization efforts.
