Job summary

Verathon Inc is seeking a Data Engineer to help build and modernize our data pipeline architecture in a cloud-native environment. You will migrate ETL workloads from Redshift procedures and SSIS to scalable pipelines using AWS Glue and S3, while guiding the move toward near real-time analytics with stream processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field with 2–4 years data engineering experience.
• Experience migrating ETL workloads from legacy tools (SSIS, stored procedures) to cloud-native pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills with best practices and linting in Redshift or similar.
• Interest or experience in stream processing (Flink, Spark Streaming, Kafka Streams).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain modern ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue and S3.
• Develop testable, version-controlled data transformation workflows.
• Maintain Redshift with materialized views, performance tuning, and cost efficiency.
• Transition from batch ETL to near real-time streaming with Flink, ClickHouse, Kafka, or Kinesis.
• Design pipelines supporting both near real-time and batch workloads.
• Collaborate with product and analytics teams to support reporting, AI/ML, and customer features.
• Follow established patterns and best practices for pipeline development.
• Participate in production support and incident response for data infra.
