Job summary

Hearts & Science is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer in New York to join the Data Engineering Team. You will build and optimize ETL jobs, design data warehouse solutions, and own data pipelines across batch and real-time processing on AWS.

The role requires Python development, SQL proficiency, and experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, and Redshift. You’ll collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, IT and Investment teams to deliver robust data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM field.
• 3+ years building data pipelines with ETL and big data tech.
• 3+ years programming in Python in Linux environments.
• Experience deploying production cloud services in AWS (EC2, S3, Redshift).
• Ability to translate business requirements for cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to EDW growth with stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting data.
• Assist in long-term data warehouse strategies and capacity planning.
• Clarify requirements with end-users and data SMEs for ETL/ELT design.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
• Mentor Data Analysts and ensure production data quality.
