Job summary

Omnicom seeks a hands-on Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering Team in New York. You will design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT workflows, implement automated data warehouse solutions, and ensure QA across the data lifecycle.

The role collaborates with Analytics, Data Science, IT and Investment teams to deliver batch and real-time data solutions. Responsibilities include maintaining CI/CD pipelines, mentoring Analysts, and upholding data quality and retention policies across the enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or similar STEM field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience building data pipelines with ETL tech stack and big data.
• 3+ years of Python experience in Linux environments.
• Experience deploying and supporting production cloud services in AWS (EC2, S3, Redshift).
• Able to translate business requirements for cross-functional audiences.
• Experience collaborating with multiple business units and cultures.
• Experience in advertising/media industry with basic media math.
• Experience with social media datasets (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) a plus.
• Experience with Google Campaign Manager, Xandr, or Adobe Analytics datasets a plus.
• Experience with Google Cloud products a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate a plus.
• Experience with Jira a plus.
• Experience with Tableau for data visualization a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to growth of the enterprise data warehouse by producing accurate information in reporting objects.
• Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for data automation.
• Clarify requirements with end-users and data SMEs to design ETL/ELT processes.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to support CI/CD pipelines in a large Git repository.
• Mentor emerging Data Analysts and provide feedback on workflows before production deployment.
• Investigate and correct data inaccuracies between EDW and source results.
• Establish relationships with internal/external POCs to meet data delivery expectations.
• Maintain data optimization and retention policies in backend processes.
• Document ETL and data warehouse processes and contribute to team knowledgebase.
