Job summary

The Providence Groups, LLC, through VantageWorks, is seeking a Data Engineer to build and support scalable data infrastructure. You will design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, integrate APIs and file data, and develop Python automation to enable reporting, BI, and future AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, ensure data quality, and contribute to cloud-based architecture while growing a modern data platform from the ground up.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong SQL skills, writing, debugging, and optimizing queries against real business data.
• Python (Pandas or similar) for data work.
• Experience with a cloud data platform such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or equivalent.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience integrating APIs and flat-file data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to work with real-world data: profiling, cleaning, validating, documenting

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Integrate data from APIs, flat files, cloud platforms, and operational systems.
• Clean, validate, transform, and document data.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries.
• Develop Python scripts for automation and data transformation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders.
• Support data quality and governance.
• Contribute to cloud-based data architecture.
• Partner with external consultants.
• Help establish the foundation for AI and advanced analytics.
