Job summary

Baker Group seeks a Data Engineer to design and maintain data pipelines powering a Microsoft Fabric data warehouse. You will own ingestion, transformation, and orchestration across ERP, HRIS, MRP, and other sources to deliver trusted data products for analysts and developers.

The role focuses on data modeling, governance, and enabling AI/ML use cases, with collaboration across Data Scientists, Analysts, and Software teams. On-site in Des Moines, IA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (CS/DE/IS or similar).
• 3–5 years in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, or related field.
• Proficiency with SQL and database tech for ETL/ELT.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory or similar tools.
• Experience with data modeling, governance, and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest data into Microsoft Fabric.
• Architects and maintains the Fabric medallion Lakehouse structure (bronze/silver/gold).
• Develop and implement best practices for data infrastructure and environments.
• Owns pipeline orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring for reliability.
• Curates core datasets across employees, finance, projects, service, and manufacturing.
• Enforces data quality, validation, and reconciliation across pipelines.
• Designs data models, schemas, and semantic layers for reporting and AI/ML use.
