Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a data engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines, models, and BI reports to support reliable analytics across the business.

You will write optimized SQL, work with Power BI dashboards, apply CI/CD, and leverage AI tools to accelerate data work.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years’ experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into data solutions.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years relevant experience in data engineering or analytics.
• Strong SQL skills; able to write and optimise complex queries.
• Experience with data modelling and structuring data for reporting.
• Hands-on data pipelines and ETL development experience.
• Experience building dashboards, ideally in Power BI.
• Grounding in data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for data work.
• Exposure to Azure, data warehousing, or solution architecture is a plus.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines and ETL processes to move and transform data reliably across the systems
• Develop and maintain data models that support reliable reporting and analytics
• Write and optimise SQL across data pipelines, reporting layers, and ad hoc analysis
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for stakeholders
• Apply data structures and algorithms thinking to design efficient data processes
• Apply version control and CI/CD practices to data pipeline and analytics code
• Apply AI tools to accelerate data engineering and reporting work
• Contribute to data warehouse design, database administration, or solution architecture where relevant
• Work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting needs and translate them into reliable data solutions
