Base pay range

$62.00/hr - $65.00/hr

Roc Search is currently working with a leading technology organization that is looking for a Data Engineer to join their team.

As the Data Engineer, you will play a key role in a high-impact migration project that is foundational to the company’s evolving data infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to design and optimize large-scale data pipelines while leading the migration from Redshift to Databricks, helping modernize how their teams interact with and leverage data.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with AWS in both development and production environments, including cloud automation and infrastructure best practices.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL; experience with Spark SQL and Snowflake SQL is a strong plus.
• Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems.
• Proficiency in Python, especially for data engineering and scripting applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to work across teams to deliver robust data solutions.
• Operational experience with Terraform; experience deploying and managing Terraform as a service is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable ETL pipelines and Databricks workflows in collaboration with platform, security, and network engineering teams.
• Oversee the full migration from Redshift to Databricks with a focus on maintaining data integrity and minimizing service disruptions.
• Continuously improve the Databricks infrastructure stack, focusing on workflow optimization and best practices.
• Ensure the successful transition of BI dashboards, reporting pipelines, and financial data processing systems to the Databricks environment.
• Define and implement ownership, monitoring, and quality assurance practices for ongoing data operations post-migration.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align data platform capabilities with business and technical needs.
