We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team remotely from the United States. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines that support our core platform's high-accuracy real-world evidence generation capabilities. Your expertise will ensure that our data infrastructure can handle complex, heterogeneous clinical data sources with resilience and automation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, clinical experts, and data scientists, to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions that underpin our evidence platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the technical direction of our data architecture, contribute to quarterly data product releases, and drive innovations in data quality and automation.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record in leading technical initiatives. You should possess in-depth knowledge of Snowflake and dbt as primary data platform tools, along with strong Python skills for building and maintaining complex data pipelines. Experience in designing resilient pipelines that handle high-variance, messy clinical data sources is essential. You should be well-versed in system thinking, including observability, failure recovery, and automation, ensuring pipelines operate smoothly with minimal manual intervention. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of engaging meaningfully with business and domain stakeholders, understanding the context and significance of the data. Familiarity with AI tools for enhancing development velocity and data quality monitoring, especially in anomaly detection, is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and clinical teams are crucial. Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as OMOP CDM, HL7, or FHIR, and experience with EHR data, will be considered a plus.
Your primary responsibilities will include leading the design and evolution of our data platform architecture, establishing best practices and standards for the team. You will develop and operate production-grade data pipelines capable of reliably ingesting and transforming high-variance clinical data at scale. From the outset, your designs should emphasize automation, enabling pipelines to detect issues, recover gracefully, and surface problems without manual intervention. You will actively contribute to quarterly data product releases, collaborating with product, clinical, and customer success teams to meet project commitments. Building and maintaining data quality tests that adapt to the evolving needs of downstream consumers is vital. As a senior team member, you will mentor and guide other data engineers through code reviews, architecture decisions, and the establishment of shared standards. Additionally, you will advocate for the use of AI tools to improve development workflows and code quality, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
