Our client seeks a Data Engineer for a remote role.

Role Description

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms supporting large-scale data ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis. Responsibilities include constructing data lakes and warehouses, optimizing pipelines, and implementing ETL workflows to support analytics, machine learning, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in distributed computing, cloud data architectures (preferably GCP), and modern data processing frameworks. Experience with real-time streaming (Kafka, Apache Beam), MLOps, and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Jenkins) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Platform & Architecture Development: Design and maintain scalable data platforms; develop data models and schemas; optimize query performance and cost efficiency.
2. ETL, Data Pipelines & Streaming: Build efficient ETL pipelines using SQL and Python; develop real-time streaming pipelines; ensure data quality and governance.
3. MLOps & Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy ML pipelines following MLOps best practices; manage data storage and security on GCP; automate deployments with Terraform and Jenkins.
4. Collaboration & Agile Development: Work with cross-functional teams; promote data-driven decision-making; educate on data architecture best practices.

Skills & Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in large-scale data processing.
• Strong SQL and programming skills (Python, Java, Scala, or Go).
• Experience with distributed frameworks and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of data modeling, governance, and schema design.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, real-time streaming, and MLOps.
• Retail industry experience, especially in consumer goods, is a plus.
