We are recruiting a Senior Data Engineer with a rare combination of modern technical expertise (Airflow, Neo4j) and deep domain knowledge in the US Mortgage and Banking sector. You will be responsible for architecting next-generation data pipelines that transform complex, legacy mortgage data (MISMO standards) into scalable Knowledge Graphs and AI-ready datasets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pipeline Architecture: Design, implement, and manage complex data pipelines using Apache Airflow, with an emphasis on custom DAG development, dependency management, scheduling, and monitoring. Design and implement data pipelines that ingest, validate, and normalize high-volume loan data, ensuring strict adherence to MISMO (Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization) standards.
  • Graph Database Management: Develop, optimize, and maintain Neo4J graph database solutions for high-volume, mission-critical enterprise applications.
  • Data Handling: Work with both structured and unstructured datasets, leveraging appropriate storage and retrieval strategies.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with MLEs, software engineers, and product teams for pipeline delivery and data product enablement.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure data quality, reliability, and security throughout ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Operations: Monitor and troubleshoot workflows, ensuring high availability and performance of data systems.
  • Documentation: Document processes, schemas, and best practices to ensure efficient knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience working within Tier 1 US Banks or large-scale Mortgage Lenders.
  • Deep understanding of the MISMO reference model and mortgage loan lifecycle data.
Technical Stack
  • Expert-level Apache Airflow skills (custom DAGs, Operators, Sensors).
  • Production experience with Neo4j and Cypher query language.
  • Strong Python and SQL proficiency.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data platforms and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Data Strategy: Experience with data modeling for complex financial instruments and knowledge graphs.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience implementing Graph RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) for financial documents.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting (HMDA, GSE delivery).
  • 3+ years of specific Data Engineering experience
  • ML Ops: Experience supporting machine learning workflows or analytical data products.
  • CI/CD: Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for data engineering and workflow automation.
  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with MISMO data structures and mortgage industry data models is highly valued.
