Role Description & Mission:

We seek a passionate Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain our core data infrastructure supporting analytics, machine learning, and data science. You will optimize data processes, ensure data quality, and develop scalable data models to enable data-driven decisions. Success requires a strong technical background, collaboration skills, and innovative solutions.

Key Outcomes:

  1. Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from various sources, using orchestration tools like Airflow, Snowflake Tasks, Dagster, Mage.
  2. Cloud Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud costs, perform query optimization in Snowflake to reduce costs and improve performance.
  3. Data Foundations: Develop data lakes and warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift), aligning with business needs and SLAs.
  4. Data Modeling & Transformation: Use dimensional modeling techniques, develop transformations with DBT, Spark, and explore emerging approaches like data mesh.
  5. Coding: Write scalable Python, PySpark, SQL code; develop APIs with FastAPI or Flask; create data dashboards with Streamlit, Dash, Plotly, or React.
  6. Data Quality Control: Implement data governance, quality frameworks, observability solutions, and define SLAs/SLOs.
  7. Teamwork: Collaborate with data teams and stakeholders, follow best practices in version control and CI/CD, document processes.

Skills, Education & Experience:

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree + 3+ years or Master's + 2-5+ years in a technical field.

Technical Skills (Essential): Experience with Snowflake, ETL/ELT tools, Python, SQL, data modeling, query optimization, data quality frameworks, AWS services, API development, version control, CI/CD.

Soft Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and independent work skills.

Bonus Skills: Data streaming, Agile, IaC, emerging data tech like Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi.
