Qualifications

IDR is seeking a Data Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Rosemont, IL. This role offers an engaging environment within a data-driven organization focused on leveraging AI-powered solutions to transform data workflows and insights. The position involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and warehouses, with a focus on modern data engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools.

Position Overview for the Data Engineer:

• Responsible for designing and delivering scalable data pipelines and maintaining data warehouse objects.
• Operates independently within an AI-native delivery model, utilizing AI tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot.
• Works closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop, test, and deploy data solutions.
• Ensures high data quality through automated checks, testing, and review processes.
• Collaborates effectively within a distributed team environment, following development standards and participating in agile ceremonies.

Requirements for the Data Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3-5 years of professional data engineering experience.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts, including query performance and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with AI development tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot, and data warehouse architectures including Medallion layers.
