Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Data and Analytics team. You will design and implement API integrations to connect Workday with customer platforms, enabling streamlined benefits, enrollment, and insurance workflows.

You will lead data modeling efforts, set blueprints for entities, dimensions, and facts, and work with Architects and principal engineers to deliver scalable data ingestion solutions across PST hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or senior level work experience in required field.
• Senior level data engineering experience.
• Experience with Databricks, specifically integrating with Workday with either Workday Reports Connector, Workday HCM Connector, Workday Data Cloud, Unity Catalog, or another connector.
• Experience with prompt engineering in AI, ability to utilize AI and continue implementing new AI development tools.
• Experience with ingestion tools such as Fivetran and Confluent for near real time and batch data ingestion.
• Strong communication and self starter, must work well with driving initiatives forward with peer engineers and architects.
• AI engineering background and understanding.
• Workday API integration experience as a Data Engineer.

Responsibilities

Job Description

An insurance client in the PNW is looking for a Data Engineer to join their team to support a top priority for the business. The team is building external API integrations to connect with their customers' Workday instances. This will create streamlined workflows for employee benefits, enrollment, leave management, and insurance, increasing the customer base for the company. The team is looking for a Data Engineer, with modeling experience, to join the Enterprise Data and Analytics team. The primary goal of this team is to partner with the customer integration team to connect to the customer's platform and scale the Workday programs. This includes moving to APIs, implementation and operation work, and ensuring proper data ingestion.

The core technology includes Databricks, Fivetran, and Confluent / Kafka. This person must have senior level engineering experience but also guide the team / create base level blueprint surrounding entities, dimensions, and facts. This person will partner with Architects, Principal Engineers, and the engineering teams. Expectation are to be a self-starter, driven, and partner well across the business to deliver within project timelines. This team sits nationwide and works core PST hours.
