Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Data Engineer/Data Warehouse Production Support Lead to head the development, maintenance, and production support of enterprise data solutions across large-scale warehouses, data marts, and pipelines.

The role requires hands-on leadership while building and optimizing ETL workflows with Ab Initio, SQL, Unix/Linux, and Python, and guiding modernization of workloads to Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in ETL design, data warehousing, and production support.
• 5+ years with Ab Initio (GDE, EME, graphs, plans).
• 5+ years advanced SQL in enterprise.
• 5+ years Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
• 3+ years with programming languages, development tools, databases, and the SDLC.
• 2+ years with GCP, BigQuery, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance, and production support of enterprise data solutions across large-scale data warehouses, data marts, repositories, and data pipelines.
• Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and optimize complex ETL workflows using Ab Initio, SQL, Unix/Linux, and Python.
• Develop and support Ab Initio graphs, plans, scripts, reusable components, parameter sets, and EME assets.
• Resolve production incidents, ETL failures, data-quality issues, batch-processing problems, and performance concerns.
• Support modernization and migration of Ab Initio and DB2 workloads to GCP and BigQuery, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in ETL solution design, data warehousing, software development, and application production support.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Ab Initio, including GDE, EME (Enterprise Metadata Environment), graphs, plans, and enterprise ETL development.
• 5+ years of advanced SQL development experience in an enterprise environment.
• 5+ years of experience with Unix/Linux systems and shell scripting.
• 3+ years of experience with programming languages, development tools, databases, and the systems development lifecycle.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Big Query, and Python.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer/Data Warehouse Production Support Lead to lead the development, maintenance, and production support of enterprise data solutions across large-scale data warehouses, data marts, repositories, and data pipelines. This individual will provide hands‑on technical leadership while designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex ETL workflows using Ab Initio, SQL, Unix/Linux, and Python. The role will be responsible for developing and supporting Ab Initio graphs, plans, scripts, reusable components, parameter sets, and EME assets, while resolving production incidents, ETL failures, data‑quality issues, batch‑processing problems, and performance concerns. The Lead will also support the modernization and migration of existing Ab Initio and DB2 workloads to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery, partnering closely with data architects, QA, infrastructure, cloud, business, and support teams throughout the SDLC. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Ab Initio, advanced SQL, ETL/data warehousing, Unix/Linux, and production support experience, along with hands‑on experience with GCP, BigQuery, Python, CI/CD, and GitHub/DevOps practices. Experience working with healthcare insurance data and applications is required, along with strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Compensation:

$58/hr to $65/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
