Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $89,100; Commensuratewith education and experience

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8am -5pm

Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remote work

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for engineering and supporting enterprise data solutions within the College's Ellucian Banner SaaS environment and connected enterprise data ecosystem. The position enables reliable access to institutional data that supports reporting, analytics, regulatory compliance, and operational decision-making while ensuring enterprise data solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with established technology and data standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements*

  • Provides technical leadership for assigned data engineering initiatives, including the design, development, implementation, operation, monitoring, and support of enterprise data pipelines and integrations that support the Ellucian Banner SaaS environment and related internal and third-party applications
  • Works with project teams, ERP functional analysts, integration architects, reporting teams, and business stakeholders to define business and technical requirements, translate requirements into scalable data solutions, and communicates solution approaches, technical impacts, risks, and implementation recommendations
  • Designs and supports batch, event-driven, and API-enabled data movement patterns between Banner SaaS, cloud data platforms, integration platforms, reporting systems, and third-party applications
  • Develops and maintains data models, data structures, data mappings, metadata, and technical documentation supporting reporting, analytics, integrations, conversions, and operational processes
  • Implements data quality controls, reconciliation processes, exception handling, and monitoring to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability
  • Leads resolution of complex production data issues, pipeline failures, integration errors, and post-deployment performance problems; performs root cause analysis and coordinates corrective actions with internal teams, vendors, and implementation partners
  • Prepares and maintains design documents, data flow diagrams, operational support procedures, runbooks, and project or architecture review materials to support sustainability, knowledge transfer, audit readiness, and operational continuity
  • Serves as a data steward supporting data governance practices, including data lineage, metadata management, data definitions, access controls, retention considerations, and compliance-related documentation
  • Coordinates with Identity and Access Management, Information Security, database administration, cloud services, and infrastructure teams to ensure data access and data movement are secure and compliant with college standards
  • Monitors emerging technologies, Banner SaaS data capabilities, cloud data services, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and long-term sustainability of the College’s data environment
Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience supporting Ellucian Banner, higher education ERP systems, or SaaS-based enterprise applications
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience developing or supporting data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data integrations, or data services in a cloud environment
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience with SQL, relational databases, data modeling, data warehousing, or enterprise reporting and analytics platforms
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience with Microsoft Azure data and integration technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse, Fabric, Logic Apps, Functions, or related cloud data services
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience with APIs, JSON, XML, delimited files, secure file exchange, data transformation, and data validation techniques
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of data engineering principles, practices, and technologies, including data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, monitoring, and operational support
  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL development, data modeling, metadata management, data warehousing, lakehouse concepts, and enterprise reporting dependencies
  • Knowledge of SaaS application data patterns, ERP data structures, integration methods, APIs, secure data exchange, and cloud-based data architecture concepts
  • Knowledge of data quality, data governance, data lineage, access controls, privacy, compliance, and secure data handling practices
  • Skilled in designing, developing, testing, documenting, and supporting reliable data pipelines and reusable data services
  • Skilled in troubleshooting complex data issues, analyzing root causes, resolving data discrepancies, and communicating technical findings clearly
  • Skilled in translating business and reporting requirements into technical data designs, data mappings, transformation logic, and supportable solutions
  • Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and building effective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly ensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff, vendors, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, technical standards, and existing regulations
  • Ability to coordinate assigned work and communicate effectively with faculty and staff to support campus and departmental operations
  • Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuring confidentiality and discretion with sensitive and confidential information
