Job summary

Waystar in Louisville, KY is seeking a Data Enablement + Governance Manager to mature enterprise data governance, standards, compliance, and stewardship across the organization.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to define policies and oversee governance artifacts, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and metadata repositories, ensuring data integrity and responsible use under regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data governance, information management, business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in data analytics, data quality, or enterprise information management.
• Experience with data governance frameworks, data stewardship models, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR).
• Proficient with governance tools and technologies (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or equivalents).
• Experience implementing and maintaining data quality measurement frameworks and KPIs.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to translate technical governance into actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of a scalable data governance strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Define and enforce enterprise-wide data quality standards across units.
• Oversee creation and maintenance of governance artifacts (policies, data dictionaries, lineage docs, metadata repositories).
• Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and tech teams on data classification, access controls, and lifecycle policies.
• Drive adoption of data governance platforms and automation.
• Facilitate data quality issue resolution with root cause analysis and remediation planning.
• Support operations with data standards guidance and quality gap resolution.
• Track and report governance metrics, risks, and progress to executives.
• Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
