Job summary

Gravie is seeking a technically skilled Underwriter to support the evaluation and pricing of Comfort health plans and other proprietary, level-funded products. Use Gravie’s underwriting engine, claims data, and demographics to assess risk and craft competitive pricing proposals for small and mid-sized groups.

You will independently underwrite new business and renewals, apply guidelines, and collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Product to refine plan designs and underwriting practices

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of underwriting experience, with focus on health plans
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making
• Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload while meeting performance targets
• Independently use Gravie’s underwriting engine to rate small to mid-sized groups
• Rate level-funded plans and provide product/pricing with first-level concessions
• Apply underwriting guidelines to evaluate group health plan risks
• Communicate rates and plans with recommendations to Sales/Account Management
• Use claims data, demographics, and utilization to inform pricing decisions
• Maintain underwriting documentation and regulatory compliance
• Participate in training to develop underwriting knowledge
