Job summary

Veterans United Home Loans is seeking a Systems Applications Engineer to ensure data-centric and enterprise support applications run smoothly. You will install, configure, patch, and maintain critical business apps, while collaborating with stakeholders to translate needs into configurations.

You’ll monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and own complex challenges end-to-end, partnering with vendors and internal teams. Strong Linux/Windows admin skills and 5+ years required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, and supporting data management, messaging, and administration tools.
• Strong Linux and Windows server administration experience.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, NiFi, Kafka, Camunda or similar technologies.
• Ability to manage projects and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Clear communication and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners.
• Willingness to learn and stay current with trends in project management and application support.

Responsibilities

• Lead on installing, configuring, patching, and maintaining critical business and data applications.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize scalability.
• Own complex technical challenges from start to finish with vendors and internal teams.
• Translate business needs into effective application configurations.
• Support data flow, messaging, search, and workflow platforms such as RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, NiFi, Kafka, Camunda.
• Plan, organize, and document complex system designs per standards.
• Stay current on emerging tools and propose efficiency improvements.
• Contribute to team culture and assist others.
