Job summary

HHSC’s Behavioral Health Services seeks a Substance Use Program Evaluator to support evaluation plans across prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery for substance use disorders. The role collaborates with executive-level staff and external partners to ensure rigorous data collection, analysis, and reporting.

The ideal candidate has strong data analysis skills, knowledge of public health program evaluation, and the ability to work independently under general supervision.

Qualifications

  • Experience in public health, substance use programs, or data and evaluation.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in a relevant field.
  • No registration, certification, or licensure in a specialty area required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement components of complex evaluations for behavioral health programs and policies.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data to support program evaluations and performance measures.
  • Coordinate the collection and preparation of materials in response to requests for evaluations; monitor dashboards and tools.
  • Document evaluation processes and procedures for a common reference.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders and translate data into actionable insights.
