Job summary

The School District of Lee County is seeking a qualified guidance counselor leader to design and implement a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program for all students. This role emphasizes academic, college/career, and social-emotional development, with direct services, individual planning, and collaborative partnerships with families and staff.

Candidates should hold a master's in counseling and a Florida PK-12 certificate, with experience in HIPAA/FERPA compliance and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Masters degree in counseling from an accredited institution.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate in guidance and counseling PK-12.
• Proven experience managing business/department functions and staff preferred.
• Industry certification preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a data-driven, comprehensive school counseling program for all students to address barriers to student learning and to close achievement/opportunity gaps.
• Provide direct services for students including counseling core curriculum, individual counseling, planning, group counseling, and preventative/responsive services.
• Provide indirect services including referrals and collaboration with parents, teachers, and administrators to promote educational equity.
• Deliver programs that promote essential mindsets and behavior standards for college/career readiness.
• Use school data to identify and assist students below grade level and provide resources to succeed.
