Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. Wakefield facility is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a team in producing safe, high-quality food products. You will direct daily production and sanitation tasks, manage resources, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and cost standards.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of supervisory experience in the food industry, with strong communication and organizational skills. Availability for overtime and occasional weekend work is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• 2-3 years supervisory experience, preferably in the food industry.

Responsibilities

• Leads team members to support safety, food safety, operations, sanitation, and personnel development.
• Keeps management informed about operational, quality, safety issues, employee concerns, and production cost control.
• Adheres to safe work practices, GMPs, and maintains product quality.
• Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace.
• Produces the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost.
• Recognizes and resolves operating problems to minimize impact on operations.
• Directs services of maintenance, sanitation, and other personnel as necessary.
• Responsible for ingredient, packaging usage, and all department costs.
• Encourages suggestions from employees to improve production, quality, safety and costs.
• Participates on plant safety team.
• Ensures regulatory compliance.
• Cooperates with all departments for coordinated working relationships.
• Enforces company policies fairly.
• Maintains communications and leads meetings as required.
• Leads continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develops self and team members' skills for better performance.
• Drives accountability and ownership of results for safety, quality, and productivity.
• Keeps accurate records (timekeeping, downtime, absenteeism).
• Willing to work overtime or weekends when required.
• Minimal travel required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
