Job summary

Lam Research in Fremont, CA is seeking a Product Engineer with Data Science specialization to combine semiconductor experimentation with analytics, solving complex process and hardware challenges.

You will work with process development, technology development, product engineering and customer escalations to transform data into actionable insights that improve performance and accelerate development.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Physics, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, Applied Statistics, Scientific Computing, or Advanced Analytics.
• Strong foundation in engineering, experimental methods and quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform process engineering research, development, characterization, and evaluation to support Lam's semiconductor capital equipment and systems.
• Lead technical investigations with customer escalations using analytics to identify failure mechanisms and drive corrective actions.
• Develop predictive models and data-driven methodologies to improve process behavior and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with process, hardware, systems engineers, and customers to solve technical problems and communicate findings.
