Job summary

The Athletics are seeking a Minor League Pitching Coach to be assigned to one of our minor league affiliates. You will work directly with minor league players to develop pitching skills and overall performance through instructive training.

The ideal candidate will have deep pitching knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with other coaches and Player Development staff. A growth mindset and willingness to work long hours are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven pitching coach experience at minor league or college level.
• Strong understanding of pitching mechanics and pitching philosophies.
• Effective communication with players and staff.
• Experience with video analysis and data-driven approaches to development.
• Growth mindset and commitment to learning.
• Flexibility to work long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on instruction on pitching mechanics and pitch design.
• Implement individualized pitching programs for minor league players.
• Collaborate with coaching staff to integrate pitching with fielding and mental skills.
• Analyze performance using video and data to identify improvements.
• Coordinate with strength/conditioning to enhance athletic performance.
• Provide timely feedback and mentor players with a professional approach.
• Support Player Development staff in evaluating progress and readiness for advancement.
• Conduct on-field training including pre-game warm-ups and pitching sessions.
