Job summary

DREAM in New York seeks an experienced educator to lead high‑quality instruction and cultivate a positive school culture. You will build relationships with students, implement a Common Core‑aligned curriculum, and collaborate with grade teams, leadership, and student support to drive outcomes.

The role emphasizes instructional leadership, data analysis, and ongoing professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness and student growth. NYS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• New York State certification in subject area preferred.
• Two years teaching experience with a record of improving student achievement preferred.
• Desire to make a difference in students, families, and community.
• Willingness to receive and implement feedback.
• Excellent communication with colleagues, students, families.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with co‑teacher to create a culture of high achievement for all students.
• Deliver Common Core‑aligned curriculum using backward design and documented syllabi/lesson plans.
• Prepare for and participate in grade team meetings, Student Support Meetings, IEP Meetings, and professional development.
• Monitor and document academic progress for all students in the class.
• Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and adjust strategies.
• Maintain high expectations and build an inclusive classroom environment.
• Coordinate with Student Culture/Support Teams on individual student plans as needed.
• Communicate student progress with families and colleagues regularly.
• Collaborate with grade/leadership teams and service providers to align practices and initiatives.
