Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking an Internal Audit Analyst to enhance risk-based projects through data analytics, automation, and tech-enabled testing. You will manage milestones, collaborate across functions, and integrate analytics and visualizations into audit work to deliver actionable insights.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 1–3 years in accounting or internal audit, and strong Excel and data-tool proficiency. This salaried role offers growth within Internal Audit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, information systems, data analytics, computer science, cybersecurity, or related field.
• Progress towards CPA, CIA, CISA or other relevant certification preferred.
• 1–3 years related professional experience in combination of public accounting, corporate accounting, IT and/or internal audit, retail/consumer industry experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 proficiency required.
• Experience with data analytics and automation tools (Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Python, ACL, IDEA) preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly, document results, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable data analytics and automated testing for SOX and internal audits.
• Support execution of SOX controls testing procedures.
• Document process designs via walkthroughs, narratives, and flowcharts.
• Perform detailed internal controls testing using IT system reports.
• Review SOC reports, evaluate exceptions, and follow up with owners.
• Assist with developing audit project scope and perform testing/documentation of workpapers.
• Identify risks and opportunities for improvement; prepare observations and recommendations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine processes using data analytics.
