Job summary

Mansueto Ventures is seeking an ambitious Editorial Data & Insights Fellow for a one-year program in New York. The role focuses on data-driven journalism, visualization, and storytelling across Fast Company and Inc., reporting to the Head of Editorial Strategy.

This early-career position offers mentorship, hands-on work with nationally recognized brands, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in a modern digital newsroom.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Recent graduate with interest in journalism, data analysis, business, economics, public policy, or related field.
• Campus publications, newsletters, podcasts, digital media, or internships in journalism preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication skills.
• Strong research skills; identify meaningful trends in complex data.
• Experience with AI-powered research/productivity tools.
• Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, adaptable, curious.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and interpret public and proprietary datasets for editorial opportunities.
• Transform complex information into engaging data-driven storytelling.
• Develop concepts for new data features across Fast Company and Inc.
• Collaborate with editorial, design, product, and video teams to publish data stories.
• Support reporters with data analysis and insights to strengthen reporting.
• Create scalable workflows for data journalism projects.
• Produce original reporting from your own research and analysis.
• Stay informed on new data sources, visualization techniques, and AI tools.
