Job summary

The University of Tennessee System seeks a data systems professional to design, maintain, and optimize data workflows using SQL and Python, and to develop Power BI dashboards and semantic models for leadership. Collaboration with Institutional Research and technology partners will improve reporting processes and decision-support capabilities.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor's degree with 4–6 years of programming and database experience; Masters is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and four to six years of programming and database experience.
Advanced knowledge of SQL, SQL Server, and ETL/ELT processes.
Experience with Power BI, semantic models, and data visualization for leadership.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, tables, views, and data pipelines supporting institutional reporting and analytics.
Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and semantic models for leadership and campus stakeholders.
Implement and modify data validation, error-checking, reconciliation, and troubleshooting processes to support reliable reporting.
Collaborate with Institutional Research and technology partners to define data requirements and deliver effective reporting solutions.
