Job summary

Paylocity seeks a Data Conversion Specialist for its Meridian, ID office. This role combines payroll knowledge with technical data conversion work, using SQL, MS Excel, and Paylocity tools to migrate client data.

Responsibilities include data extraction coordination, data mapping, and data cleanup, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery. Bachelor’s degree required; 3–5 years’ payroll data experience preferred.

• Review client data for accuracy before uploading; format as needed.
• Ensure data from previous providers is successfully extracted and formatted for Web Pay.
• Analyze mapping rules and assist in data cleanup as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

In-Office: This is a 100% in-office role based at any of our Meridian, ID location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week during designated work hours.

Position Overview

The Data Conversion Specialist is a technical support role with SQL skills and advanced MS Excel skills. This position is a resource for the Implementation Consultants and enhance Paylocity’s electronic conversion function working with Payroll and HR. This position combines technical ability with payroll knowledge, creativity, and can-do attitude to convert new companies onto the Paylocity payroll processing platform.

Primary Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external requests during implementation
• Work directly with clients to coordinate and schedule electronic data extraction
• Responsible for converting time clocks, history (including check detail, rate and position) and custom data extractions
• Use MS Excel, SQL Server, and Paylocity data conversion tools to research issues and update customer databases
• Review and/or format client supplied data for accuracy prior to uploading
• Take accountability to ensure previous provider data is successful extracted and formatted for Web Pay
• Pull data dependent on which of the products the client purchased with a holistic approach
• Responsible for analyzing and defining mapping rules
• Assist in data cleanup where necessary
• All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required
• 3-5 years' experience working with payroll data preferred
• Ability to multi-task

• Proficiency in MS office – Products are based upon Access and SQL databases. Knowledge of these will help during electronic data conversions.
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills
• Basic SQL skills preferred; experience in SQL Server is also a plus

Physical requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
• Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is $50,000-$60,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position offers a full range of benefits outlined here.
