Job summary

TalentHop is seeking a Data Integration Engineer to manage complex data integration from client onboarding through platform operations and to develop advanced data solutions while serving as an escalation point for complex issues.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor teammates, and drive process improvements across the data integration lifecycle within a K‑12 education technology context.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar technical professional.
• Expert proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3 and RDS.
• Experience working in a K‑12 education environment and knowledge of SIS highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, debug, and resolve tickets and data discrepancies, serving as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Write, review, and execute detailed action plans for major data operations while maintaining high coding and system reliability standards.
• Develop deep expertise in SIS and third‑party system specifications.
• Manage complex SSO integrations and related data requirements.
• Lead the development of internal applications using Retool to improve workflows and establish development best practices.
• Prioritize team backlogs for ad hoc work and bug resolution in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale data integration projects, providing technical oversight and managing project complexities.

About the Opportunity:

The Data Integration Engineer manages complex data integration needs from client onboarding through ongoing platform operations. This role develops and executes advanced technical data solutions while serving as an escalation point for complex issues. The position also provides technical leadership, supports process improvements and project delivery, and mentors team members to improve the efficiency and reliability of the data integration lifecycle.
