Job summary

YipitData is a leading market research and analytics firm delivering actionable insights across consumer brands and retailers. We are expanding our Data Classification Associate team to deliver accurate category insights to Retail clients in a remote-friendly environment across the United States.

You will own category hierarchies end-to-end, build taxonomies, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and clear client communication.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of data analytics or data operations experience.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, PySpark for transforming large datasets.
• Familiar with GitHub and Databricks.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to stakeholders.
• Strong ownership mindset and mentoring capability.

Responsibilities

• Own category hierarchies end-to-end and deliver high-quality outputs.
• Build and refine product taxonomies across large datasets (millions of SKUs).
• Develop deep domain knowledge of key products and brands for accurate classification.
• Drive AI-enabled classification, mapping, and scalable improvements.
• Design and run QA processes to catch errors missed by models and reviews.
• Collaborate with Insights, Data Validation, and Engineering teams to optimize workflows.
