Job summary

AWS Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to join our mission-critical facilities team.

You will maintain UPS, switchgear, PDUs, CRAC, cooling towers, and related systems, ensuring high availability and safety across our data centers. You'll work alongside engineers and operations staff, apply preventative maintenance, support during outages, and follow security protocols while delivering reliable, efficient infrastructure for global cloud

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Work a flexible work schedule including evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Apply preventative maintenance testing techniques in support of maintaining UPS batteries across our fleet of data centers.
• Act as an ambassador for safety within the team and to promote safe working across the site.
• Remain cognizant of and act in compliance with all security protocols.
• Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers and management on a daily basis.
• Work with engineers to develop detailed and creative solutions to complex problems, while keeping a watchful eye on timelines and costs.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization.
• Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up.
• Execute predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Provide support for LSE, weather events, planned, and unplanned outages.
• Provide cross functional support for ATS and Non‑destructive testing teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
