Job description

Data Center Technician

Become the dedicated technical resource supporting one of our existing customers.

Build and operate one of Europe's most exciting HPC environments.

Do you enjoy working hands‑on with enterprise hardware, solving technical challenges and seeing large‑scale infrastructure come to life?

At Lefdal Mine Data Centers we are looking for experienced Data Center Technicians to provide dedicated support to one of our existing High Performance Computing customers. You'll become part of a highly skilled technical team operating cutting‑edge IT infrastructure in one of Europe's most energy‑efficient and sustainable data centers.

This is more than traditional rack‑and‑stack work. You'll be involved throughout the lifecycle of advanced HPC infrastructure, from deployment and integration to maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvements.

This is a permanent, full‑time position based at our facility in Lefdal, Nordfjord, Norway (N‑6773 Kjølsdalen).

What you'll be doing

As a Data Center Technician working at Lefdal Mine Data Centers, you'll work closely with colleagues, customers and vendors to keep mission‑critical infrastructure running at its best.

Your daily chores will include:

  • Deploying servers, storage, network equipment and structured cabling
  • Installing, upgrading and repairing server hardware
  • Integrating hardware components
  • Supporting large‑scale deployment projects
  • Coordinating with hardware vendors for maintenance and warranty services
  • Troubleshooting issues and ensuring maximum availability
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in operational processes
What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys practical technical work and takes pride in doing things right.

Ideally, you have:

  • Experience working in a modern data centre environment
  • Strong understanding of server hardware and enterprise infrastructure
  • Experience working with servers, replacement and installation of hardware components
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • The ability to stay organised while handling multiple priorities

You must have professional communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken, and a valid class B driving licence.

Your background

You may have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or another relevant field or you may have developed your expertise through hands‑on experience. We value diverse backgrounds and career paths, and what matters most is that you have the technical competence and motivation to succeed in the role.

Who you are

We're therefore more interested in your technical competence, curiosity and willingness to learn than the specific path you've taken. Whether you've built your expertise through formal education or hands‑on experience, what matters most is your ability to contribute, solve problems and continue developing your skills.

We're looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about technology and enjoys learning new systems and ways of working. You take pride in being reliable, structured and accountable, and you're comfortable taking ownership of your work and seeing tasks through to completion. You work well with colleagues, customers and vendors alike, building positive relationships through clear communication and collaboration. Most importantly, you remain calm, focused and solution‑oriented, even when working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Working at Lefdal Mine Data Centers

At Lefdal Mine Data Centers, you'll work with some of the world's most demanding digital infrastructure while helping build sustainable computing for the future.

We offer

You'll work with modern AI and High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure, including large‑scale GPU clusters, high‑speed networking technologies and advanced liquid cooling solutions, helping to power some of the world's most demanding IT environments.

In addition you'll benefit from

  • Exciting projects using modern HPC infrastructure
  • Opportunities to work with the latest server and networking technologies
  • A collaborative and highly competent technical environment
  • Professional development and continuous learning
  • Competitive employment terms
  • A unique workplace located in one of Europe's most sustainable data centres

Because of the nature of our customers' operations, participation in an on‑call rotation is required. This may include evenings, weekends and public holidays. Overtime may also occur during planned maintenance windows and larger deployment projects.

Please note that we conduct background checks as part of our recruitment process. Background checks are only carried out with the applicant's prior consent and shortlisted candidates will receive further information during the recruitment process.

Appointment to this position is subject to the successful completion of both a background check and the submission of an enhanced police certificate (extended and exhaustive criminal record check) in accordance with Section 3‑9 of the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act.
