Job summary

US Signal in Eden Prairie, MN is hiring a Data Center Technician for our onsite data center. This role offers shift options of 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., or an 8-hour flex shift with on-call and after-hours support as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring electrical, mechanical and fire safety systems, preventive maintenance, rack operations, cabling, and handling work orders in Salesforce while coordinating with vendors and customers.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 2+ years professional experience in telecom or related infrastructure such as electrical, HVAC, fire suppression and security.
• Must be able to achieve CJIS certification within introductory period of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Facility monitoring: daily rounds and system reliability checks on electrical, mechanical, and fire safety systems.
• Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident response within SLAs.
• Install and decommission racks, provide remote hands and customer support.
• Install, test, and maintain copper and fiber cabling; align with airflow and cable management standards.
• Manage work orders via Salesforce, coordinate with vendors and contractors, support customer service requests.
• Oversee access control systems and badge issuance for secure building entry.
• Follow escalation procedures and incident response plans to ensure uptime and safety.
